Description
I pictured the game as a peaceful exploration game (like Aer) or at least not combat focused, where you wander through ancient structures of a lost civilization.
The song lasts a little over 4 minutes and I created it on Ableton Live 11 Lite and exported it to mp3 with Audacity.
Theme:
How does it fit the theme?
I envision this as the Overworld exploration theme and while the song has a beginning and an end, it's intended to be looped (I included two bars of silence at the end as a brief pause between loops)

This can definitely fit a more "retro" game aesthetic. The percussion in particular reminds me of something like Runescape which is probably one of my favorite OSTs of all time. I love the combination of acoustic and synth instruments. Sine wave synths are always ear candy to me. The melodies are pretty decent and memorable. The change in tempo really adds a dynamic element to the song which I think is appropriately related to seasonal change. good job!
I really like the way this track is panned, it made everything feel a bit more dynamic. I think it fits the idea of an overworld theme really well. This was a fun listen!
I think you did a really good job trying to tell a story throughout the single track. The tempo change early on intrigued me and the upbeat tempo added spice to your track. I was vibing on your vi-IV-I-V progression, but I also appreciate that there were numerous times that you deviated from this in exploration of new harmonic territory. It can be easy to get sucked into a single chord progression and to stay in that safe zone, but I think you ventured out and succeeded with what else you found. I liked the exploration with changing rhythms and metric feel, and I think the modulation to the new key was really smooth. I think that if you were able to have a transition at the end that modulated back to the original key, this would be a great loop that I would enjoy listening to while playing through an expansive map in your game! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for the indepth analysis!
I struggled with time management, so I had to settle for the current ending that ends on the opening notes but doesn't really close the loop the way I intended.
I want to work on the rest of the originally planned tracks, and I think I'll rewrite the ending then
love it! it actually reminds me of the music disc called chirp on the Minecraft ost
Thanks, my son plays Minecraft a lot, so maybe I inadvertently borrowed ideas from there :D
I'll check it out
This is pretty neat! I like the percussion
Thanks!
Sounds cool: I like the beat. I can imagine myself playing like a farming 2D game like harvest moon, but with 16-bit era pixel art while listening to this :). Nice!
Thanks, I had a relaxing gameplay experience in mind while writing this, I'm glad it comes across upon listening
cute song! the percussion reminds me of visiting a shop in a zelda game
Thanks!
