Description
A getaway towards the unknown. One can only wonder what the forest contains...
Theme:
Runaway

Picture theme
How does it fit the theme?
It follows an adventurer on a getaway, running away from the familiarities of the city into the unknown of the woods, unknowing of what they may encounter. Leaned into both the forest image, as well as the Runaway title theme.

It's very
adventure-y feeling
and it fits the theme pretty well in my opinion
it's like you are lost in a foreign world that is yet very familiar to the one you know
Your tracks are all very different and yet come together really nicely into a cohesive whole, really well done.
Thank you!!
Hi and thank you for your submission! Here are my impression and what I picture for the tracks! :D
Skip and Hop felt wholesome and light, a great introduction for the adventure!
Whisper of the forest: it has begun, you're almost in! Sounds like a secure tutorial environment, friendly yet a bit challenging. Loved all the sounds you introduced there!
Deep Woods has a very different mood and setting. Is that a villain showing up? A strange thing appearing in the Deep Woods? Great ambience though!
Guardian of the Oak: the first boss? Clearly we can see that the protector of the forest emerges :D
Runaway: another tone, feels like something unsettling approaches! Is it really a "safe unknown" ? :o
Thanks for the detailed feedback!
Skip and Hop: This track has a rich warm sound to it and is balanced well with the broad bass with the sprinkle of glockenspiel in the high range. I also like the imagery of the title in the beat of low-high-high which feels like skipping.
Whisper of the Forest: The subtle voice in the background adds so much whimsy to this track. The pan flute (I think?) with the blowing effect gives the sense of whispering. This forest feels like it has a lot to say.
Deep Woods: I love the dark-ward shift of this track. I feel like I could listen to this loop for a long time!
Guardian of the Oak: This track is very uplifting. The clavinet lead fits so well here! Having the voice return ties this track into your forest track making it feel very cohesive. I love the deception in your chord progression for this one as it feels like it’s going major and then takes a minor turn. This is a fun track!
Runaway: The glockenspiel arpeggio is what makes this feel like a runaway track for sure. The ascending progression also makes it feel like there is a heightening sense of tension or adrenaline which is another cool characteristic that adds to the theme.
Overall: While these tracks are short, you pack a lot of substance into them that gives both imagery and story-telling characteristics. Overall, well done and thank you for sharing!
Thanks for the detailed feedback!!
I like Guardian Of The Oak a lot! I feel like if strings joined into the melody in the second verse it would add a lot of epicness aha.
Thank you! Was considering using a violin for the main melody.
Your sense of harmony is very rich, and each track was a joy to listen to... as they say in Iceland: "Vel gert!"
Thanks!
