When do I start?

This would be my first time entering a game jam, so I'm slightly confused on the start time. At the time of writing this, it begins in about 12 days. My question is, do I start working on the songs after it begins in 12 days? Or is there a theme or rule that will be announced in 12 days thats supposed to put a spin on it from right now? I apologize if this question is confusing, I'm just not sure if I'm supposed to start working on it now or in 12 days.

Thanks in advance :)

I second this question, Also my first jam

Hello, first jam too

I suppose that it would be better to start now, since the countdown is for the opening of the submits.

Got it! Time to dive in 馃榿

Yah, I believe you may just start now. But, also, there will be a theme revealed later but the rules said it didn't matter that much.

Hi, just to clarify you should only start when the jams starts.

It's encouraged that the submissions are made within the period of the jam as there is also a theme for you to build upon your soundtrack. All submissions of the jam must be original and composed specifically for the jam, hence the rule of being unreleased, and the rule of being unfinished is that it would be unfair to other participants (as this a ranked jam) if you have more time than the others. Your submission would be considered illegitimate if it is found that you have submitted something that is made before the jam starts.

Got it! Thats what I was wondering. I hadn't landed on an idea yet anyways so I'm still good to start fresh, thanks!
