Description
I tried to capture that "jungle groove" vibe from the Donkey Kong Country series.

This is actually the first "serious" project I made with Cubase! It was nice to learn many of its functionalities on the way (although there surely was some struggling involved).

Definitely captured that jungle groove. The slap and pop bass along with the flute synth were my favorite!

Thank you!

Really captured that jungle groove xD

Did you use a MIDI keyboard?

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Yeah, everything's MIDI except for the intro ambience. Sadly I can't play any of the actual instruments on this :(

Wow! Even knowing this is a tribute, if you told me David Wise wrote this, I would totally believe you. Excellent work capturing all of the iconic Donkey Kong Country music elements including instrumentation, rhythm, chord progression, melody, and structure. This is excellent work!

Developer

Woah, that's high praise, thank you!

This was a joy to listen to!

Happy to hear that, thanks!

I really like how you combined the chiptune and hq sounds. Really good!

Developer

Thanks! I was basically switching styles mid-composition, the drums were left over from the old version. Glad to hear that the combination  worked out :)

Extremely groovy, I love the bass sound on this!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Turns out that decent bass VSTs exist :D

I really liked this, it was very groovy and fits very well with the original soundtrack. Nice job.

Thanks, that's what I was hoping for!
