This is a really interesting concept, and the presentation is really cool and I think fits the theme quite well. I would love to play a fully featured version. I also think some of the chess pieces are breaking the rules? That or I couldn't tell which ones they were supposed to be, but I think a castle killed me diagonally.
Thanks, I'm working on a bigger version that fixes the bugs (not allowed moves have been fixed) and adds in the rogue-lite element. I'm glad you saw the theme connection!

Oh wow, I can find myself having a lot of fun playing this with a bit more polish. That said, right now I really enjoy the concept so far. Chess inspired games are always so interesting and I'm excited to see you implement more of your features.
I’m glad you liked it! I too love chess like games. A lot of time was spent fixing bugs so I plan on working on some extra polish and features after the jam ends.
