Cool game! I love the art style. A few notes:

- The fact that the music is an instrumental of a famous song is a bit distracting, as my brain keeps going to the words of the song instead of the gameplay.

- The controls for moving the AI cruiseship are a little clunky, and I got so annoyed that for the first playthrough, I left it behind and got the bad ending.

- I did not know my dad was in the AI cruiseship until the bad ending scolded me for leaving my dad behind. I thought James was the name of the AI. It became more apparent that James was my dad when I took him along and he talked about child care and such. I would recommend rewording the intro dialogue to make it more clear to the player that James is your dad.

- As a player, I did not realize the power was draining until it was out of power. Making the power meter always visible might fix that.

- On a replay, I got the bad ending but also had my dad with me??? I think it was a bug.

- Speedrun mode was fun. On my second run I got close to yours, but I did not want to retry because the controls for the AI cruiser felt more imprecise and made the speedrunning feel like it was up to some RNG. You also have to know the special trick in order to get close to your time and stats (I got close, but I did not want to learn the pathing for getting all the orbs so here's my time):

Overall good game! I just wish the AI cruiser wasn't as clunky.

oh yeah i already said in discord but here i simplified my comment to your feedback in case anyone else reads this :

  • The cruiser is INTENTIONALLY clunky to be the main obstacle of the game, to deal with it as you climb the trail
  • Bad Ending Trigger in Speedrun Mode is a lil whack
