The results are in, and after some serious deliberation (and maybe a few laughs), our judges have chosen the top 5 games from this year’s submissions!  Some really stood out but each of these entries brought their own unique flavor to the competition, and we're excited to highlight the creativity and effort behind them. 🎮✨

And the winners are…

🥇 1st Place: Titan Nova Pinball – Winning a full package to Develop Blue 2025 in Dubrovnik (including 2 tickets, an indie expo booth, travel expenses, and accommodation)! 🌍
🥈 2nd Place: Pinball – Awarded $1,000 💸
🥉 3rd Place: Panic Pinball (WIP) – Taking home $500
🏅 4th Place: Interplanetary Pinball Travel – Earning $100
🏅 5th Place: TINYBALL – Grabbing $100

All winning games will also be featured in Spinly’s Lounge, giving our community some new and exciting pinball fun! 🚀

We will soon send email here on itch.io to the winners with further instructions for claiming your prizes

Thanks to all the developers who participated! Your creativity and enthusiasm made this Game Jam a blast, and we can’t wait to see what comes next!

Keep on flipping,
The Spinly Team 🚀

I want to highlight that the winner here is being pretty dishonest. Titan Nova Pinball has taken the open source code and assets for Terra Nova Pinball (see here: https://spaghettieisgames.itch.io/terra-nova-pinball) and changed the name of the developer and title. The work involved is changing maybe 1 sprite and 2 strings within the code. You can find the GitHub repo they used with the developement history here: https://github.com/xietanu/pico8-pinball

As such, this doesn't seem within the spirit of the jam at all (the original game was developed over a longer period 2 years ago, and crucially not by them). I wouldn't kick up a fuss if they hadn't won anything, but this really sucks for the others who entered this jam honestly and lost out to someone who just slapped their name one someone else's work.

I made the code for this open source because the Pico-8 community is great about support and sharing, and if a developer wants to build on what I made to do their own thing that is very cool. But this is essentially a scam with next to no effort and zero creativity involved.

I'm sorry I couldn't flag this earlier, I was only just made aware. I hope it's not too late to do something about it. I'm also sorry to the other developers who lost out because of this.
