Dashing is very important, as while it doesn't make you invincible, its your only form of dealing damage. There are 3 areas in total, with modifiers to add difficulty and score.

This is very fun, but hard! It's really polished too! I really like the game and though I played a lot of bullet hells, but never saw anything like this before. Sadly died quite a few times somewhere in the middle of the second (pink) level and never got to see the boss. Everything is so quick at that point usually I just got comboed to death during a single wave. Maybe everything is happening too fast and it's just very difficult to react in time? idk.
For some criticism, I'd say during the last part of the first level, I never have thought I need to hit all four edges in the first place, and just kept on banging on the centre block. It wasn't until later when I started to read that info page that I needed to do that. Probably need some text or clarification in that regard. Also, why the background music is so quiet? I know it's there but it's just poorly mastered, and will certainly get overpowered by the strong sound effects.
Anyway, I like this very much, and you should be proud of building this wonderful game! Well done!
Thank you for the feedback! Looking back, I do wish I had a tooltip show up explaining how to progress through bosses (something like the text that appears before you start a level telling you to hit all sides). And for the second and third levels, I do agree that some of the yellow phase walls move too fast, which just happens because I wanted to keep every wave a similar length while also keeping the difficulty. Just some waves ended up being dumb diff spikes and just insta-killing the player without prior knowledge.
And about the music, I just messed up a setting at the very end and I had three seconds left, game jam + college crunch time goes crazy!

This game is great, it even feels polished. You could balance the attacks a little, I think that attack that comes from all sides was pretty fun. I was quite bad at it so sorry if I missed somethings that happen later!
yeah, after messing around with my friends i think the telegraphs either appear too late, or just don't really get the message across fast enough. now i have stuff to work on for the post jam build tho!
