Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
yes

Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
yes

Summarise your game!
You are an antibody defeating viruses and collecting their dna to upgrade yourself so that you can take on bigger and tougher enemies. Brotato meets Inner Space. Vampire Survivors meets Honey I shrunk the kids

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
as you evolve new weapons they are created from your body by modifying your DNA. You ARE the weapon.

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
This is a vertical slice. AI, Animations, Sounds and (lack of) music are not indicative of the full game when completed. That said, have fun!

It was an interesting experience! I liked the mechanic of combining and getting upgrades. melee weapons with HP regen were pretty powerful. The sound effects were good, but the game would get a massive upgrade with the addition of music (A tutorial would be needed for the vast majority of players though)

Edit: Keep the good work :)

I like the concept but there were some things holding it back. There weren't any instructions on how to attack (or maybe I missed them). My guns seemed to work automatically, but none of the other weapons seemed to do anything (or maybe I just didn't know how to use them). The enemies respawning right on top of my character and killing me seemed unfair. Despite that, I did keep playing to see what sort of upgrades I could get. Just need to polish things a bit.

Where the gameplay at dog? I can just stand there and do nothing...

Developer

Enemies are missing the correct AI. This was what I had at the time of submission.

TODO:

  • update the player and enemies to use animations
  • update the enemies to use AI(e.g. the smaller enemies should home in on you)
  • player should start off with a single basic attack, not 6 weapons. This was fixed but it looks like the update did not work as expected
  • player should start off with 0 DNA fragments.
  • more locales (the names of the levels show that there are 3 different locales in the Demo)
  • Tweaks to weapon fire rate.
  • more enemies to fight
  • fix or remove the steam link on the front page.
  • windows/linux release

I have to wait until around the 14th to be able to upload any of this. :)
