Summarise your game!
U R The Weapon is a puzzle strategy game where scored letter tiles are played against opponents. The building blocks of Scrabble are incorporated into a turn based battle system, creating a unique gameplay experience. Simultaneously, a story set in a dark dystopian future progresses; players can expect to meet and interact with different characters, unveil lore, and immerse themselves in a strange and thrilling world where their actions make a difference.

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
The game follows a literal interpretation of the theme; the very first character the player meets is called “The Weapon,” in reference to his mysterious and powerful way with words. Additionally, damage against enemies is interpreted as educating them on the joys of literature. Therefore, the most powerful tool the player can wield in the game is their own wits and knowledge of words. The titular protagonist may be named “The Weapon,” but you could be too.

Absolutely in love with the idea! As a non-native speaker, I struggled to find long and powerful words to fight with, but it remained totally playable and enjoyable.

I would love to see how you build on this premise, especially regarding the "deck-building aspect" of it, like choosing which letters you go on with or which ones you leave behind. I didn't get if this system was linked with the enemies I took down (am I absorbing their letters? The letters of their names?).

Great, great, great, more games where you fight with words!

This was fun! I learned that a cat can read, destroyed a bug and a hermit crab with a lot of salt – all with my slightly limited English skills. 😅 Brainrot got me both in reality and here as a word. I really appreciate the option to continue in the Jam even after losing.

I also tried some abbreviations, but I understood why they weren’t included as valid words.

I didn’t finish the game – for some reason, it started lagging heavily in the office, and eventually, the page crashed.

But using words as weapons is a really interesting take on the theme. Great job! 👏
