The goal of the game jam is to have fun and learn something new, and I believe you’ve accomplished that! I’ve added your game to my collection and look forward to any future updates.
And I’m really happy that you like our game! 😄
Great idea, the sword that’s had enough violence and wants to "Stabotage" its master is really cool. On the other hand, the execution is a bit odd. A card game combined with a platformer at night is, for me, a strange genre mix, and I’m curious if there were other gameplay concepts considered during development. The gameplay itself is fun, yes, but I can't shake the feeling that there might be a better gameplay combination. From a gameplay perspective, however, I can't really fault it; everything works as it should, and I didn’t run into any major issues. The visuals and music are well done.
A few minor issues: The dialogue box during the first fight in the day was off-screen, and I thought I was stuck; sound settings should persist when changing scenes.
All in all, great job!
Thank you for playing, the stress adjustments were a bit last minute because two of the testing players breezed through the game too easily, but it's true that they are tryhards, so I shouldn't have put too much weight on their opinion and changed the stress 😅 Anyway, thank you for the review!
Also, the game was tested on a standard 16:9 aspect ratio. Could it be that your laptop uses a different one?
This was fun! I learned that a cat can read, destroyed a bug and a hermit crab with a lot of salt – all with my slightly limited English skills. 😅 Brainrot got me both in reality and here as a word. I really appreciate the option to continue in the Jam even after losing.
I also tried some abbreviations, but I understood why they weren’t included as valid words.
I didn’t finish the game – for some reason, it started lagging heavily in the office, and eventually, the page crashed.
But using words as weapons is a really interesting take on the theme. Great job! 👏
Thank you for your very nice words. Music is Scott Buckley - Snowfall (https://youtu.be/htAlfvjQrQU).
Also I want to ask you, how much score did you get the most? Most of my time doing this game was pretty much balancing so I would like to know if I balanced it correctly.
With that music, you could do the game much more darker, it would have more horror atmosphere and player would have bigger reason to find more light. I have made a game with pretty much same concept, but endless runner. I'm suprised I didn't find more games about lights.
Good maze game, keep up the good work.
First thing I must say is. Woo, you relly got it close to the deadline. I don't know how much time did you spent with making it, but I must say you did a good job. If I may suggest some improvement, you really should add some kind of camera contol when you contol soldier(Rotating and zoom). And the hurt soundeffect will be in my nightmares. But otherwise you did a nice game.
Good job
