Started late, no time left to fix controller bugs - R.I.P. Game Jam
At least this was a good exercise in prototyping!

This game is two player only (no AI implemented). You need at least one controller to play with both characters.

In this therapeutic fighting game, developed by Goblin, Gamedesigner and Therapist Dr. Fblthp III. himself (pronounced as "Fibblethip"), couples learn to renew their connection in the midst of quarrel and division.

This physics based fighting game is meant as a present for a wedding and has similar mechanics like Super Smash Bros. Use attack combos, block, roll or throw crates until your opponent has lost all lifes.

(1) Movement
Move - WASD / Left Stick (Controller)
Jump - Space / South Button (Controller)
Duck - S / Left Stick down (Controller)
Fast Fall - Duck midair
Roll - Left Shift + Move / Left Shoulder (L1) + Move (Controller)
Air Roll - Roll midair

(2) Combat:
Attack - F / West Button (Controller)
Charged Punch - C / East Button (Controller)
Block - Left Shift / Left Trigger (Controller)
Pick up crate - E / North Button (Controller)
Throw - E while carrying + WASD for direction / North Button + Left Stick for direction

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
In this world people can become weapons for each other, even in loving relationships. In Super Smash Couples the topic of the Game Jam "You are the weapon" becomes a metaphor of how we sometimes hurt and crush others.

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
Post Mortem: Wasn't able to start SFX and finish VFX, since this is a solo project and I started late with a relatively complex character controller (that alone has over 1000 lines of code).
I try to finish controls and bug fixing until 3pm but we will see how far I get.

Is there an AI to fight or is it 2-player only? I liked the visuals and the game ran great even tho it's 3D (can't say that about every game lol) Nice work, you've got a good foundation here!

Thanks! Yes, it's two player only. AI would have made sense, since you need two players to test all features (like blocking attacks).
