  • GDD: Saw the two incorrect theme in the summary and in the theme interpreation? This leaves me a bad impression that this is from an previous jam? if so, I cant play this.

Did you include your Game Design Document in your downloadable files?
Yes

Tell us about your game!
The MVP was just to put a dude in a hazmat suit with a flame-thrower and lots of fungus spreading everywhere that will eventually kill you. You need to burn it all down to open a door and escape. However, as I worked on this I not only finished the MVP- but I started adding a lot more stuff. For one, there's more than one level. Two, I developed a backstory that the person was actually in the facility to save her daughter. Since implementing the saving the daughter mechanic would be significantly beyond scope- I just made it look like it was the aftermath of a scenario in which you failed to save the daughter. Maybe I'll come back and develop this more with the saving the daughter component.

Did you remember to include your Game Design Document?
Yes

Is your game set to Public so we can see it?
Yes

Extra Notes
I was getting really into the cinematic aspects of this story line. Kinda wanted to go a lot harder but obviously there's only so much time. I entered this jam with the idea that I would do as minimal in scope as possible to ensure I finished a completed project. I'm happy with what I accomplished and may one day revisit this. What's in the GDD is more or less the MVP. But I have another list of all kinds of other features I was entertaining. Some examples are - fungus nests type that produced different types of fungus, other monsters, bosses, more mechanics that play with your stepping rhythm, 3 plot lines, and big upgrades to all the graphics such as animating a hop on the hazmat guy when he moves around as well as making the fungal nest pulsate and explode. The credit system and voice lines were all outside scope- but I had a lot of fun doing them. Overall this was a lot of fun. I made it a goal this year to do 1 game a month. It just so happened you were doing a game jam- I was going to work on another game but decided to join the jam instead. :D

The mix of turn based and what seems to be real time combat co-existing is really interesting, cool idea. Also love the voice acting bro, you killed it.
