I liked it and thought it was fun, but it feels like it escalates way too quickly. I get one power-up and then suddenly I get drowned by enemies. So many that picking up more orbs becomes almost impossible. I also had trouble with the dog enemies... if you get unlucky they will get on top of you and drain half your health before your attacks kill it because you run so slowly. Great work though!

- Great Roguelike game with interesting story. It would require some optimization as it is pretty difficult at the beginning and controls were confusing as of how the enemies are attacked do you need to use cursor or was it automatically attacked. Great try! I am looking forward for this game!

The Devil was defeated by heroes. The hell is now revolting because their king failed, you are the only one who stayed loyal and keeps fighting for him. In exchange he boosts you with his remaining strength. The orbs that enemies drop are their souls, collect these souls so the devil can feast on them and regain his strength. The more you feed him the more pleased he gets and rewards you with more boosts.
In the end when the devil is back to his strength he turns against you, as you know about his shameful defeat, so he cannot rebuild the hell while you are alive.
If you defeat him you become the new devil, in your next run, your old character rules for a couple of thousand years till he got corrupted by the power. Even stronger heroes defeat your old character, when you play the loop again, you start with a different character that has a special perk, enemies etc are harder and in the end you fight your old character with the loadout you used to defeat the previous devil( This part is not yet added, will be after the game jam though)
