- Obviously a quick prototype, which makes sense. You approached the themes a bit literally, but you did include them which I appreciate. Collision boxes on terrain were a little wonky. When having a limited resource (mana) and only X number of pickups, be thoughtful about how you inform the player of that. Even just a text popup saying "your mana doesn't regenerate naturally" or something more in line with the game world. Definitely would have preferred to see more. You completed the objectives of the GameJam, which I applaud you for, but showing more depth or longevity would really help your work shine.
Did you include your Game Design Document as a Google Drive link?

Depths of Darkness is inspired by the old school link to the past rooms where they were dark and you had limited light to guide you to your checkpoint. along with researching what alchemy really is. I bring you the first level. Fire.

Definitely feels like a solid foundation for a game and some interesting mechanics already. The art is simple but reads well and the music is very fitting.
I'm not a fan of the super zoomed in camera but if that's your vibe/style then go for it. I wish there was more to explore and play with as it seems like you've got some stuff going on with the magic selection with the Q button but sadly none of it works.
Looking forward to the update :)
This was neat! That first encounter is a doozy if you're not used to how disjointed your weapon is, if the enemies get on top of you you cant hit them anymore, but once I got the feel of it down it was smooth sailing. Excited to see more when you update it!
