  • Great game! I was quickly overwhelmed with the amount of enemies. After a few attempts i did reach the boss. However with the addition of all the adds in the boss room i was quickly over-run. Did have fun playing though!

Extra Notes
Thank you for hosting, this was our first time joining a game jam and the community was beyond supportive of each other. We learned a lot, and we had a lot of fun. We just can't decide it we want to build more on this game, or start a new project with the knowledge we've gained! Cheers!

Charming little game. I have to agree with halfNdeaf here, capsule colliders were not the right call 😅
The "catching the edges" bug was probably due to gravity. There are better solutions to fix this issue, but you know. You live to learn :D

A dash cooldown display would've been nice. Took me three deaths to realize it has a cooldown period

Overall a fun little experience. Wish it was longer!

Absolutely live and learn haha! Thank you for playing our little game though! We wish we could have made it longer as well, everyone we meet up we had to cut things from our original scope. We might come back to it with more experience and building a MegaManX style game with moree variety in magic and a level select!

This is a really nice experience, the music is so charming and soothing, even fighting the enemies doesn't feel that stressful based on your little attack sound effect. Although, the floating slime enemies are intimidating to on first contact. The only snag I had was that the edge of platforms felt very "short" i.e. the area from which I could jump felt smaller than the area on which I could walk. So I'd be running off the edge and press jump, but wouldn't actually jump unless I really led it by a bit. This made movement in some areas (the long dash jumps) a little clunky for me. Really good game with a ton of clarity, visual/audio reward, and quality. I also really liked the falling into the cavern before the boss fight, felt like such a cool way to 'load' that part of the level.

I appreciate the feedback! You are correct, the platform does feel a little smaller. That is due to the capsule shape on the player's hitbox, so he does slide off the side. We originally were using a square hitbox for the character so he could hang on by one pixel. Unfortunately, he kept catching on the edges of the ground, especially in that pool area right before the last cave.  When we made that hitbox change I should have gone back in and shortened the jump+dash platforming to compensate for it.

Thank you for playing! We learned a lot, and we can't wait to make something better the next go around!
