  • The art is really cute and, together with the music (at least in the cut scene as the music stops afterwards), really sets the atmosphere! The idea that you are possessing a body for a limited amount of time and need to find a different vassal is really cool. The cut scene was a great way to introduce the story! the screen where you explain the controls and what is happening to the player is really great ide that lets players have a more pleasant experience! I am glad you added the skip button to intro because when you die multiple times you want to return to the game as fast as you can. I was really missing the menu with options to turn down the sound as the music at the beginning is quite loud. While playing there were some bugs where I would die even though I did posses a new body. Also, fighting didn't really feel good. There would be nice to have some more indicators that you hit the enemy and when you would be transferred. Although the idea is fun there should be a bit more as only killing and possessing gets a bit monotone, I know you have plans for different enemies, but maybe consider boosts or a change of weapon. The game is really cute and has the potential to hook people in. I hope you will learn even more and will develop this game further!

Summarise your game!
The Curse of Sonder is a very fast action roguelike focused around the mechanic of switching hosts. You play as an ancient curse, brought down upon a stronghold by a neighboring wizard who aims to win a war before it has even started. Throughout the game, you will switch control of different characters many many times in order to deal the most damage, and survive...

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
The player embodies a curse that a powerful wizard summoned and is using as a bio weapon against his enemies. The player's goal is to deal as much damage as possible, the exact definition of a "weapon".

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
I know it's not the important part but I am very proud of the opening cinematic and my sprite art. I'm usually just a programmer but I reached out a little. I also want to point out the scalability of this game because of how I programmed it. The framework for all characters are the same so if I wanted to add any more all I would need to do is change a few numbers. Very proud of that as well.

Amazing artstyle and the cinematic in the beginning is really well made. Fighting enemies feels a bit weird though and sometimes after successfully switching hostes the game still registers a game over. Other wise a really well thought game that fits the Theme.❤
