  • What a lovely game. Love the music and the core mechanics. I had some problems with the second to last monster on multiple levels, there was a bug with aiming (the throw line didn't follow the mouse). GDD is well-written and has everything that needs to be included. I would like to see some sprites at least in the document even if you didn't have time to include it in the game. The transition between sword flying and possessed monster is a bit jarring, but otherwise very smooth. The music used fits the theme well. It is a creative spin on the theme.

Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
Yes

Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes

Summarise your game!
You are a guy who got turned into a sword by a witch and you need to go save the princess by possessing enemies to get through the level.

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
Your an adventurer who was unfortunately turned into a sword by a witch. Now it's up to you to get through all the levels by possessing the enemies who wield you.

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
This is my first ever game jam game and I'm still really new to game development in general so I know it's not very good.

Also the sprites done in the game were meant to be done by SandCastle64 but we ran out of time so I quickly did them and they aren't good.

This is your first game?! Wow, congratulations!!! You made a really nice entry, love the vibe, music is great, nice mechanics! I really enjoyed it :)

Thank you so much for the praise, it means the world to me! The music was all done by xDeviruchi here on itch with their 16 bit fantasy music pack. Highly recommend their stuff.

I absolutely love this possession mechanic and toss. I think it really has a lot of space to play in while feeling like a unique approach to this kind of platforming puzzle game. It being your first game, you killed it, small nitpicks here and there, the play button to launch in gave me some trouble, it took me a few throws off the edge to realize that the mob needed to move to the exit, so maybe making the end location a bit more obvious for the puzzle level. I didn't expect that the sword to fall through the platforms when you 'miss' your target, not even a complaint, just unexpected. Overall you did a great job, this was really fun!

Thanks so much for the comment, I highly appreciate the feedback. The sword falling through the platform is a bug I'm still intending on fixing but I ran out time when it came to the jam.
