  • Sentient Steel was an interesting prototype for the main character design and basic movements as they might be implemented into a completed project. I found your game design document very interesting, and can see how Hollow Night might be a very high bar to try and meet, artistically, within the allotted time of the jam. The musical score included within the main menu and testing level sounded great, although the organ composition and drama of it didn't seem to match with the level design as presented. I noticed going through the GDD that your team hadn't assigned a timeline to any of their development goals. In the future, having a more clear cut system of project ownership might help keep the team moving toward MVP. Thank you for this submission to Pirate Software Game Jam 16.

Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
Yes

Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes

Summarise your game!
You are a person reborn into a sword making it sentient. The creatures of this world are not all too different either. Bodies or hair made of blades themselves. Move through the area before you with simple attacks against foes to get to a boss which upon defeating it will grant you a new ability to traverse the next area and the end of the small piece of game.

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
You are literally a sword. A weapon of the ages.

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
Nothing in particular. Im just learning!

While there is not much here as it seems like most (all?) assets are from other sources and there is no real gameplay, I do congrats you on submitting at least something! Keep it up :)

Yes all were free assets except the music.  I am good with what I learned and will continue building

Wow! Nice work on the level art, gorgeous! Reminds me of playing Rayman as a kid!

Unfortunately I can not take credit for the artwork.   These were free assets obtained elsewhere. I should probably note that on the description ... Goal for future development will be on this level.  I appreciate the post regardless.
