  • I Was Born a Sword did very well in capturing an unsettling, slightly aggravating experience. I can imagine it would be very fun to watch a streamer play something like this-- and maybe that's something the creator enjoys themselves. The soundtrack was a touch loud on start up, but I think that adds to the charm for games like this. The game as presented does very well at offering two distinct flavors of difficulty: the sword flight feels hectic no matter how much you plan it out in your head beforehand and the camera angle itself is a bit too close to the sword for aiming to be done easily. My one complaint here might be that the viewer perspective is just a little too close to the subject for reasonable adjustments to strategy to be made. Perhaps next stages of development could include resolving these criticisms and producing an end screen for the current test level, which appears to loop back to the start at this present stage. Thank you very much for your submission to Pirate Software Game Jam 16.
