  • Controls were fun and intuitive. Drift was an unexpected mechanic, but welcome given the locomotion system used. Great low color art style consistency. Some objects could always be facing the player to help avoid confusion when turning 180 on the map, namely the flower pots. The rest were fine with fixed orientations. But the car art could be of a top down style to really feel cohesive and fitting with the rest. Was confused with the tiered destruction system requiring certain rage levels to destroy larger objects. This mechanic was missing from the GDD, as well as other elements like the development timeline and proto diagramming. Music was great and really pumped you up when getting really into the gameplay. Would love to see some identifier or system to know what you can and cannot destroy at current rage level.

Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
Yes

Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes

Summarise your game!
You play as an elephant that has been let out from a zoo. The main objective is to wreak as much havoc on the surrounding city as possible before being recaptured after 2 minutes. Starting out, you can only destroy smaller objects, but the more that you destroy, the higher your rage at society around you becomes and you can begin to destroy larger and larger objects, including the buildings of the city. WASD to control, hold SPACE to drift. ESC to pause.

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
As an elephant being let out from a zoo, you are the weapon acting on the surrounding city and its inhabitants by destroying everything in your path.

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
Nope just have a good day and remember to take breaks as needed.

Enjoyed playing! Similar to hole.io but different enough to feel unique! Is it possible to win? I got like quite a lot of points and still got a you lose screen. Did I not get enough points or does it always say you lose when you run out of time?

To be honest I forgot to change the end screen text from you lose to something more fitting. But yes, no matter what the player does once the timer reaches 0, the game does end. I had plans for additional levels but did not have time to implement them.

True dat. I had plans for 3 levels and five enemies. I got one level and one enemy. Still proud of what I managed though, and Ill keep working on it.

This was a fun game! The elephant controlled really well. It felt nice to play. I also enjoyed the building rage mechanic to destroy larger things.
