  • Your GDD has most of the core sections. I would have liked to see who "me" is when referencing the sound effects and what not, as well as who was doing the art - with some samples of the sprites within the document as well. The game itself was fun to play! The sprites themselves were very nice, though the player sprite design felt a little awkward with the rest of them. It also led to me having a hard time figuring out what my hitbox was and also telling when I got hit at all. I think creating the face on the weapon itself, rather than just over it would help a lot. However, I enjoyed the sound effects you created quite a lot! The dying "womp womp" was a nice surprise that got a good laugh from me! I look forward to seeing any updates you may have!

Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
Yes

Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes

Summarise your game!
You are a blacksmith cat who can possess their weapons. Move around with W/A/S/D and trying to kill as many monsters as you can to defend your castle.

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
Put your soul into the weapons and use them to defend the castle.

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
This was my first ever attempt to code. Im so happy for all i learned through this process.

Hey! That’s a great start for just a 2-week game! The game I did was similar so I understand all the aspects that you needed to consider to get it over the finish line.

There’s not really much to comment on besides the standard stuff that I would like to see the game grow into. Examples, more skills, more enemies, more UI/UX polish, feedback for getting hit / hitting enemies.

But, per your GDD, this was your first attempt at programming a game and It’s pretty durn good! Well done!

Love the sound effect when levelling up

Gotta love a survivors like game! Sometimes the projectiles did just pass through the enemies, but all in all it worked well and I had fun~
