  • Fun take on the theme and great complimentary art style. It added extra difficulty determining if a character was friend or foe. It reminds me of the firing range test scene in the movie MIB with a mix of Rugrats. Determining friend or foe kept me on edge and engaged in the game. An enjoyable minigame experience. I can easily see this being expanded with different buildings and enemy designs keeping the player on their toes in later levels. I did encounter a soft lock a couple times. The targeting reticle would go off to the left and just vibrate in place and not recover after waiting 30+ seconds. UI scaling and canvas size added some difficulty getting started. Z and S are great for right handers using the keyboard, but could be problematic for left handers, A and D would be a great alternative control scheme option to avoid button confusion during frantic moments. Also encountered sort order problems if there were at least 2 enemies in a window. Would sometimes kill the enemy behind the first visible one at random.

Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
Yes

Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes

Summarise your game!
You are are an ai gun tasked with preventing a trigger happy robot from killing innocents and letting enemies get away. In order to do this you are in control of the safety lock. be prepared to make a quick decision when the robot starts targeting

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
I designed it so that you are the AI gun, but when I wrote the title screen I made you a human in control of training the AI. it's a meta commentary on how we are working for the machines and are their tools or something like that

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
This is my first game jam ever. do you like how my robot tracks the reticle?

I had no idea what was going on, I think the controls were D and right arrow key for shoot and lock? Neat concept but I think it needs a little more time in the oven.

I had a couple of issues running this in the browser, as it seemed to lock up my window. The aiming is probably also a bit too random, as I spent a lot of time waiting for a target to be selected.

That said, this is awesome work for your first game jam!
