  • Achievement Unlocked: First GDD that made me laugh. This is wildly creative! I snorted HARD at OSHA Override being a speed boost. Mechanics and gameplay were well described and got me amped to play right now! ~15 minutes later~ You did it, you made Combat Peggle! Gameplay is easy to pick up and fun to engage with. Respectfully, I'm glad I set a timer or else I'd be playing this for hours. Art direction and Music/SFX were great choices that tied the experience all together. More derpy medieval weaponry please! I can easily see this growing into a bigger project with more map layouts and increased difficulty curve, powerups and enemies requiring multiple hits. Maybe boss battles? Quite the fully fleshed out prototype demonstrating what you set out to develop. Would be cool to see some reactive feedback or announcer voice from the game on certain events. I got into a zone where I was getting double, triple and quadruple kills a lot. I can easily see that or similar adding to the humor and charm you've already established. There were some unexpected hitbox behaviors on certain objects. I managed to lodge myself in the stool and somehow spin together with it and break out of bounds of the map, hilariously softlocking myself. Throws counter seemed inaccurate or not well represented at times I believe from other power ups at play. But had no idea how many I actually had left. Having a visual representation of banes and boons would be helpful. And possibly adding matched VFX/SFX on their useage or activation in game to reinforce that to the player could be of benefit. Would love to see controller support added as well. Please pour yourself a Zappy Energy Drink, you've earned it.

Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
Yes

Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes

Summarise your game!
Using your mouse to aim, then either click or spacebar to build up power. Press again to launch. Keep track of your remaining throws for each room, but don't despair if you run out, next time you try you'll know more and be stronger. Each successful run brings new snacks with short lived boosts giving you a taste of upgrades to come, making you an increasingly unstoppable force of destruction

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
Mass Momentum aims to capture that magical moment of finally beating a tough raid boss and getting epic loot - but distilled into short, chaotic runs where YOU are the legendary weapon. Through carefully designed progression systems and physics-based gameplay, we're creating an experience where you evolve from a simple projectile into an unstoppable force of nature that can one-shot anything in its path.

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
Our first attempt at a game beyond tutorials, and the closest to something playable we've ever gotten, so thanks for playin it!

Jam Judge

Your game has been disqualified because you did not set your game design document to be publicly accessible

Developer (1 edit)

Wow that's a bummer, it's public now if it matters.

When this was submitted, it certainly was available publicly. I opened the link in an incognito window to be sure prior to submitting and checking the "YES" checkbox next to the confirmation in the submission.

Great job! I really enjoyed this game it's nice and simple and the high energy music kept me wanting to play even more! The only recommendation I would give is to make it so your throws don't get used up while you're opening the chests, although that doesn't seem to matter much anyways as I think you get sent to the next level after. All in all good job you made a great game over the course of 2 weeks :D

Nice! good that you finished your game. Your thumbnail made me play your game
maybe try to improve the ui for the next game, godot is really good in making UI stuff, as soon as you get the hang of it.
