high level of polish, looks very good.
Nice sound and gameplay loop.
Cool Upgrade System.
Strong submission, especially for one single person. Well done!

I like the Voice Acting, Humor and the Lie-Detector ;)
Also cool game Idea, right before i thought the ship/spacestation was completly empty i was killed by a giant crab. 10/10 ;)
The most important improvement would be to make the combat more understandable for the player (who`s turn is it, how much moves/attacks etc are left, how much health has everybody including the enemys and so on)

I really like the sound and art, especially the clicking of the keyboard. That feels like an very old PC oder some PC out of the Fallout Universe.
I had one moment where i really had to laugh because the AI gave me some insight about myself.

Well done!

Hi, cool game Idea. Well executed.
Would have loved if you would have used some sort of naming of your nodes, more like the logic blocks.
To write down on them AND/OR/XOR etc. if a player is not familiar with the icons, he needs to use the tester.

Incredible intro and presentation. not my artstyle, but very well executed.
I also like the UI and Menu colors and style.
also very funny that one of our team suggested we should make some sort of pacman with the haunted theme, and you did something in that direction.
I could not get past the second level because of the time restraint, but cool mechanic with the levers.
I think the game is well balanced so far but i might be just too slow or did not use the best routes to pick up all the stuff. cool that you can squish ghosts with the levers/platforms.

Well polished, well made!
Also it seems you did it by yourself, which is even more stunning. great accomplishment!

Love that you put in a shader compilations step. I might had a few stutters here and there in the webbuild (chrome) did you add lighting to the compilation step? we found out in a previous game of ours, that lighting seems to make a difference, so that we ended up, doing the compilation step with included light for the particles etc. to get rid of the last stutter.

cool game, cool AI drivers, i think the graphics are already good. steering is fine. but maybe give the car some inertia or something, because it stops to aprupt if i let go of the W key, it stops nearly instant.

I think your game would increase your ratings bigtime if you would have added some SFX and Music. There is plenty of high quality free stuff here on Itch.io in the Assets, or maybe on opengameart.com etc.
Adding sound and music usually doesn`t take up that much time but improves the game significantly.
You did a great job! keep going!

Ok, the game is very very rough around the edges, had problems sometimes to grab the items... BUT maybe that was because of one of the wildcards? idk
I like the artstyle, even the not "correctly" cut out paper characters. and the overall visuals are mostly good.
The music and sounds are good too.
took me a few moments to understand what exactly i had to do, but than I served 5 happy customers :)

I think there might be a cool game hidden behind "not enough polish", because the base idea and mechanic etc. seems to be cool and fun.
Would have loved if the UI was a little bit more responsive, with some highlighting of the buttons and usuable items. Maybe a few more sounds for the "monster creation process"

Well done!

Very cool, love the different camera angles, combined with the "unusual" style of movement makes for a good combination. Good choice of spooky/calm/puzzle music
Nice graphics

Opportunitys for improvement:
Would have loved to play it in fullscreen. You can change that on the Itch.io page, to allow a fullscreen button.
Unfortunatly i got stuck in a table - but it seems you put some kind of save/checkpoint system in? great.
Maybe overall a bit too dark - Maybe add "hero lighting" or a "torch/lamp?" to the player.

Well done!

This was very original

Yeah what the Heck ;)
Absolute loved the game, all the meme stuff, the pumping soundtrack, the rally feeling, the speed animation, the turboboost and jump-ramps. Had a lot of laughs, absolut hilarious game
OMG you made soooo many levels in such a short amount of time.
I could not beat the "Rainbow Road of Hell" and gave up after probably 30th attempts.
Hard to beat that experience
Very well done!!!

Things to improve:
Game run very well but had a big shader compilation stutter from i guess the first crash-particle-animation, took 2-3s of lag. You could most probably get rid of that stutter, this will bring you 80% there:

If you had more time it would be nice to have a cooler looking UI/Menu etc. But all of that is nickpicking you put your time into the important (fun) part of the game

5 Stars!

I absolutly love the Art of the Haunted House where the Intro Story is told. Amazing
Incredibly to put such "clayart?" together for a jam.
The only thing i dislike is the Font, maybe it is very hard to find a Font which matches something like clay, but in thi case maybe a custom font is needed.

ÔMG i love The Artwork of the House of the Introstory and the moon. Incredible "claymation"?

Had problems to understand all the mechanics.
for example i need to figure out where to repair the shovel, and on the first try i was little bit flashed that i could only open 3 graves before it broke down.
or what to do with a big ruby i found in one of the graves
Cool Pixelart and I think it fits the theme well

Hi, i like your main menu. i like the crazy sounds. the music gets a little bit repetetive after some time.
I like the bomb SFX
I was ultra unliky with my first attempt, i got no upgrades for more or faster firepower, so i ended up with the first attack only until i died. second playthrough went way better.
I like the "Loot Goblin" feature and the "evil lough" when he enters his "portal" with my crystals

for windows you need to export the .pck file too, or you need to include it in the .exe
I cant play your windows game because the .pck is missing

Journey to the edge of infinity!

as usual bippinbits stands for quality. great game
super unsualy type of game = fantastic idea.
very cozy and ultracool interactions, planting, squashing, evolving.
i especially liked the "chopsticks" and "fingerplanting/squashing"

cool that the tiny creatures evolve and learn new skills etc.
super soundtrack and awesome visuals, colors and lighting

you wrote:
"Note if you play in browser: the game will load for a while if you press "new game", with a black screen. Every time a new effect is shown, the game will lag. This will resolve itself while you play. "
usually that is the worst in firefox, chrome is usally still relativly good.

you can try and look at that: (to fix shader/particle compilation stutter)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kbDj9V2MZvw&t=85s
after that you have to emit all the particles, combined with a light, this can be done hidden ONCE at game start, combined with a light and have them active as a node at all times in the background (without emitting). to get rid of all the shader compilation stuff. Otherwise it can come back in different scenes
We ran into such issues with an older game of ourselfs.
I would guess that you know that already,
maybe you just had not enough time to fix that.

greetings from germany

Very good gameplay. Sound and Music is fitting. love the flute part.
I like the watercolor Art also the cool bee animations etc.
cool tech tree.
lots of deep gameplay in here, with the different routes/flowers etc.
played probably 20-30 minutes on that. took me also 10minutes to leave you this suggestion

I would strongly suggest, to give the player an indikator where he still can grab the bee-upgrade-points. (maybe an icon above the bee hive where it is still available)
Also to remove the way to big "Choose a Destination" Label at the top. Maybe make it fade away or something like this, because it hinders my mouse and makes a route home sometimes impossible - because it is in the way.
Other than that, maybe work a little bit on the UI to give it a few animations. everything is very static, something with hover over animation or stuff like that. Otherwise i look only at a static screen.
After i got all the upgrades the game looses its attractiveness/gets boring.

Had fun playing it (until i completed the tech tree).
Great base here to expand from!
Very well done! i applaude you!

I challenge everybody to get all the tech tree buildings and more bee hive population than me with 13 days left ;)

Hi Jorel, I didn`t play your game while the jam was running. but played it afterwards.
Without even pressing start I could directly see why you made such a good place just from the lovely UI and polish alone.
I especially love the UI, the touch of story + "Trademarks" the soundtrack, animations and the solid gameplay
your control is also superb just with the mouse.

I like the the wavy words mixed in between the text but the sound of the dots ... and text that appears is a little bit too much. The tutorial was a little bit overwhelming for me, in the end I just started playing. Maybe think about a tutorial which shows more of the game in action?

really impressive that you could deliver something in this quality in just 9 days alone! incredible!!! you are definitely talented!

I could imagine your game working out on mobile devices, mouse will probably translate well to touch and the game would look great in panorama view on smartphones and tablets. maybe implement double tab to release the stone, and on the first tab you show the information/percentages etc of the stone.

thanks bigtime for your well written and really heartwarming comment.

Yeah we ran a bit out time in the end. Endscreen art missing and not a perfect Solution for identifying the items. As a last minute addition we implemented the item highlight function to help the players in need.

I think this time our thumbnail is not catching the audience. The playercharacter is not looking as sweet as in the game… she is looking away and looks like an old witch who is cleaning the spiderwebs 😅 and in that way the thumbnail is not very advertising for players.

Yeah also the title… 😂 had of course to include „tower“ and the story idea was to „clean“… a day before the submission we had to add something „magical“ to it 😂

Thanks from the Team!

cool name for the game, sweet artwork and level design with fitting soundtrack.
really cool yarn climbing and swing feature, adorable cat character
would have loved to have a little bit more of a dynamic jump (holding space for longer, makes me jump higher or something in that direction).
plays probably better with gamepad than with keyboard. (Space + E is kinda hard, had to use the mouse too)
Well done!

I had a smile on my face immedialy after hearing the first music... love that track, had choosen it for a gamejam before for one of my games ;) omg even the second track love that one too. so you definatly had me on the music. good fit for your theme.

I love the colors and parallax clouds. cool idea with the comments of the king.
I think you choose a font which fits the theme, but it is too hard to read for me, would suggest to look for some slightly different medievil font but still more readable .
if noticed a few times that you probably look for something like "if the blocks are placed" and spawn only new ones if the physics have calmed down?
Really cool take on the theme and with some sort of "Tetris" - Style game.

Would have loved to had a visual indikator on the tower height, not just the indikator on top in meter.

Well done! cool game! also probably a good canidate to make it playable on mobile in the future

I totally disagree with the Kings comment...

Hi, really cool game idea. very well executed
love the music and sound, especially the "placing block sound" because it is so satisfying.
love the visuals, UI and overall style. had fun with the physics

couldn`t make it past level one thought^^ i guess i have to git good ;)
would have loved to pass level one

Got 30 levels high, top polished game!
I could see this get really good if you could somehow add a litte bit more complexity, maybe building to the sides? Having the tower to be "balanced", not to lean to heavy on one side?
Maybe buildings are cheaper when build on the same level (but you get the same bonus) idk, to get "steamrolling" later on.
Once I got two of the same bonus cards to choose from, that should probably not be that way.

Loved your idea, good fit of the Tower Theme.
Absolute adorable graphics, lots of animated mice, relaxing soundtrack, super sound effects.
I absolutly love everything of your UI, the visuals and sounds etc. also the hints for the player
Absolutly amazing that you could do this in just 9 days on your own. Respect!!!
You might win the GWJ#73

Hi, very cool game
Nice music and SFX, everything matching the castle theme. cute idle animation and intro video
clever step by step additons to the gameplay such as spikes, boxes, springs, electric wires and switches etc.
later on multiple combined features in one level even considering the jumpheight and seilings
great level design for the most part, there were some difficult spikes *pun intended* for me
sadly I could n make it to the end, it was little bit to hard for me at some points, in level 3 and further on in level 8.
Maybe there comes even more cool stuff later on.

good entry! well done!

I love it. really great fit for the theme,
Cool that each size of the player has different skills, fire frequency, melee and ranged differences.

only things i would change is to not spill blood when attacking an enemy which i can currently not hurt because i am not matching his scale.
Also as Dusty mentioned, maybe increase the difficulty curve a little bit, on normal it is maybe a little bit slow.
And give the enemys maybe slightly less HP, to be not such bullet sponges sometimes.
Maybe you can try to map the 1,2,3 scale change to the mousewheel or something.

Maybe this would be cool for a couch coop game with a buddy and two controllers?
Very well done!
Respect ;)

Hi, yeah you are absolutly right, UI is a mess this time xD
Things scattered all over the place and not really good looking just barely functional.
Would have been fixed with more time.
Thanks for playing and leaving your Feedback!

I like your suggestion with the Resources underneath the Towers and to show the amount of needed resources in that clever way! Thanks!

Update: 01.08.2024: we managed to fix the shader and particle compilation stutter, but it was more complicated then first thought.
We will upload a new improved version of the game in the coming days.

cool game, everything fits together, like the artstyle and music and effects!
Well done!

Hi, the idea with the death minigame was cool.
I like the Music and also the sound effects. Like the weapons
The way to the camp is very dangerous? I killed lots of monsters?
But that was just a shooting spree and running along the way as fast as i could, because it were so many enemys

(1 edit)

Hi, i liked the sound and camera design, changing with the different movement speeds and RPM of the motor etc. Looked like a "realistic" depiction of an "old" soviet mech ;)
I very much liked the different mechanics switches and system, really well made.
I only had real problems with the turning wheel and mouse usage, usually I was turning in the wrong direction xD and needed to made a full 360°
I think you are somewhat inspired by the bippinbits planetary defence canon game :)
Which is not a problem.
I would love it to be a little bit more accessible, i had big problems with the turning wheel and the weapons "radar" i couldn`t figure out what i would see in there. i would also like to have the primary radar (green) probably double the size.
Other than that, really well made especially all the mechanics and intertwined systems, switching gears and so on. Well done!!!

Yeah, nearly as many people died by running into a tree... than i caused by exploding heads xD
Just a few minor 89 collatoral deaths due to FBI Agent friendly fire :)

Crazy Idea, cool idea with the powerups lol

hmm seems i was out completly out of luck, had around 10 encounters, and every single one of them failed dramatically...
the good part was that i lost a few crew members early on which led to less food comsumption :)
I made it to around 2000m

I like the story, vibe and soundtrack.

Hi, yes we already have looked at the problem. And i also saw the video. And it is clear that this is an issue of shaderparticle compilation stutter.

We are already working on improving the  game in several ways and we will also implement a shader compilation step to fix these issues.

the problem was that for example on my Maschine 1080ti ryzen5600 i have absolutly no stutter/freeze with running chrome. So we only noticed it right at the end when one of our teammembers had the same problem and it seems to be way worse if you are running the game in firefox.

In the end we just didn’t had enough time to do a fallback solution (for example a Sprite Animation) or to fix it in time for the submission.

Thanks for bringing this up!

really cool concept. like the artstyle and music

i think the music stops after the first death?

I like the visual effects of time travel and that it changes the level. cool stuff!

I am really sorry to hear that. Really sad that you lost two family members.

Great accomplishment to submit the game.

Hope the near future will bring more joy to you.

I liked the Intro especially the comic style. also the home office worker and the characters of the pink and green political party. and the sounds while connecting the districts.
crazy that you took such a political approach, i guess most of the people are not familiar with this "often times bad" practice

I think the base of your Game is strong.
I like the tight controls and most of the magic effects.
Also the jump upgrade mechanic is cool.
The sound effects are good too.

Cool that you included the "seasons" in the level but i think they don`t really have a big affect on the gameplay?

In the end i build a maschinegun fireball wizard, but than the enemys are not clever enough or powerfull enough.

But i think it could be a good game in the future. I would love if you would zoom a little bit more in, so that the gameplay is more screenfilling. and add a few different enemys. And maybe a few bosses?

Maybe it would be really cool if you could play it couch coop with a friend? or versus?

So good job! Well done!

Hi, I like the artstyle and the relaxing theme
