  • Really fun concept! Fun little puzzle game that reminds me of "Getting over it" in a way! The controls are a little infuriating at times, for example, one of the levels had me sliding around the map like the ground was made from ice, while another level, I had to shimmy down a slope by turning around. These wonky controls could be further refiled, to give the player a bit more control over the movement. Alternatively, marking floors as ice could prepare players for the slide mechanic and not feel as unintentional. I enjoy the simplistic art style and the music, although, making the music piece a little longer would be a big benefit, as the looping sounds would further feed the "Rage game" aspect of it. All in all, really well made! I look forward to seeing you in the next jam! Don't stop improving and making games!

Summarise your game!
Take possession of a cannon that must reach its battlement, utilizing your recoil to move around. Aim the cannon to maneuver around obstacles in your path as you make your way to the end.
A & D rotate your cannon
Spacebar to fire cannonballs
R to restart
esc to return to menu

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
With most ballistics, there is some recoil that displaces it. With such displacement, I figured it would make for good movement. Additional development would have had cannonballs affecting the environment for you to further maneuver around the levels.

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
The movement of the cannon through the air.

Ok, I have played several games where you shoot to move around from this jam. This one is by far my favorite. Its a really simple concept but I thought it was fun to finish all the levels. Honestly the reason it played well is the instant change in direction from the cannon shot. My only feedback is that visually the cannon blends a bit too much with the background so maybe an outline could help. Other then that I like your idea of expanding the idea with environmental effects. Nice work!

Glad you like it! I originally had it so that the force applied would add up to the direction aimed at, but found the movement too odd, adding the instant change afterward. I'm glad it paid off. Looking at some of the images I have you raise a good point about the colors blending a bit too much. I think whenever I get the chance to come back, I'll probably make the cannon a lighter color so that it sticks out better. Thanks for the feedback!
