- GDD The GDD is perfect. It has everything we need to understand the devs. Very well fleshed out. Gameplay You can't fool me; he is the Austin Powers answer to Dr. Evil's sharks with freaking lasers on their heads. Dolphins with pulsing beams on their backs, disarming mines on the ocean. Evil mines! The dolphin is fast, very fast; it's such a joy swimming and jumping with him. But my old man's reflexes made me feel like a games journalist, so I had to take it slow to clear the game. But this little loop was simply fun. Art Very charming art style; the background feels like an underwater level, with great asset placements. Made me miss the beach. Lovely animations for the mines and the torpedo too. Sound design As stated by the dev on the game page, there was no time to add BGM or SFX before the deadline. Last thoughts It was a very enjoyable experience, with a solid arcade feel. You did well in making a shippable MVP by the deadline, and it was way above expectations for a first game developed. Hats off. Great job.

Spy Dolphin is a 2D platformer about a dolphin trained to be a spy, sent on a mission to assist allies and destroy enemies with its laser. This is our first game!
Mechanics we were able to implement in time include:
Swimming with acceleration and inertia
Jumping and diving in and out of water
Mines and torpedoes for the player to dodge. Mines can be destroyed by the player's laser, but torpedoes are too strong and have to just be dodged.
Controls:
Keyboard/Mouse: WASD to swim, aim with mouse pointer, left click to shoot laser
Xbox controller: Left analog to swim, right analog to aim, right trigger to shoot laser

This is based on a real CIA program that really existed. It attempted to weaponize dolphins to sink enemy ships.
Humans have weaponized many animals throughout history including dogs, horses, elephants, and even pigeons. Several nations have trained marine mammals to be used as weapons of war and are still used today to defend ships, retrieve equipment, and locate mines. In this game the player controls a government trained dolphin that has been deployed to assist allies and attack enemies at key naval positions. A spy dolphin is a weapon in the water that can go where humans can’t go.
