- This was a very good first shot at developing a game, and I noticed in the comments before I got to this that you noticed what you did wrong in this development cycle. For that reason alone I want to give you all of the points because you understand the entire point of the Game Jam: Self-improvement. If I did that though, I would be out of a job… so here I go. The controls for using the mouse were not very intuitive, and there were a few bugs when dealing with the menus, but the cards did what they needed to, and the damage numbers and animations felt nice, if a little simple (which is fair for a solo dev). Everything felt unfinished as if you ran out of time (which you already pointed out, so I won’t belabor it). Moving on to the Game Design Document, everything that I look for was there, though I would suggest more items in the timeline, and an additional section for things that go in the next build (some people label this is “Beyond/If time allows”) that can show what the less important items on the list are. All in all, a great first step into the world of Game Dev.

Hey Good job on your first game! It was a bit confusing in terms of what to do. I would write in your description the instructions usually If you didn't have time for a tutorial you can do that! It's tough limiting scope and doing everything yourself. So I'd say just keep working on it. You'll get better and faster over time! Congrats on submitting!
Thanks, Yeah I 100% ran out of time. I spent all day before the deadline just trying to make something that had a game loop. Next time I'll focus more on the gameplay and then quality of life stuff. I've been working on it and once the judging period is over I'll be posting updates.
I couldn't figure out how to use the cards. Look like you put a lot of work into it tho, keep making games!
Thanks. You can use the cards by clicking on the enemy which highlights them, then clicking on the card you want to use twice. If you click on options you can also map buttons to the keyboard or gamepad and use it.
