  • Hello Pirate Jammer, Thank you for the submission. Starting with my experience playing the game. It was really rough to get going on the browser. After I got it going I ended up liking the gameplay. The way my playthrough ended was up flying off the side of the map and falling forever. It took me a bit to figure out the blue square was an environmental hazard and the brown bricks were the mass to get big. The art and animations were simple but worked. I like the simple background music and the funny squelching sounds. Finally, the GDD you made was a little sparse, if you got some more thoughts and some nice formatting in there, maybe some concept diagrams, you might be able to build up an even cooler game in the long run. Even if those extra things would have never made it into the prototype, knowing what you wanted to do would have been cool. Thanks again!

Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
yes

Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
yes

Summarise your game!
You are the blob eat stuff, gain size, break gates, eat king... ez

Movement: WASD
Camera: Mouse (pausing/unpausing captures mouse sometimes buggy on web)
Jump: space (you can double jump)
Pause: Esc or Q

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
You are the blob that is the weapon to destroy the kingdom by eating the king

My camera freaked out on the mouse getting captured. On getting the mouse back to stop that the game refused to recapture the mouse, which makes camera control non-existant. I think this would be better as a top-view puzzler, the sort where you keep moving until you hit an obstacle.

Developer

thank you for your comment and playing :-)

yes the camera is a bit weird but hitting Q 2 times was resolving it usually

the top view idea is nice but would make the jumping part harder

I didn't even realize there was jumping, the camera issues just made the whole thing too hard to play! I'll try again with the tip.

It seems Firefox was part of the culprit, go figure.

I didn't get much use out of jumping, especially since the entrance to the third gate has so many puddles I basically couldn't jump enough to avoid them all.
