I actually like the looks of this entry, i took a look at it and it actually combines PSX to PS2 and i will say; im impressed with all the entries so far, including this one.
Although, I notice you used a bit of Midjourney for this, BUT for the next PS2 Toy Box game jam that i set up today, (if you decide to make your next game for it), i guess i can give you a pass from one of the Generative rules, but i do encourage you to be a little bit careful when you use a bit of generative things, okay? :D
Once again, this one is one of the impressive entries i have seen from this jam. Keep up the great work! and I might see you in the next upcoming jam!
I’m glad you enjoyed it! I appreciate the kind words and I try to keep an eye out for jams sensitive to AI content. If it makes you feel better, I spend a great deal of money on human artists and authors for my magazine, which is actually a commercial endeavor.
If this gets fleshed out into a proper game in time for the next jam I absolutely will make sure a demo makes it into the submissions as it would have all original art at that point. Thanks!
Pretty good game! The game is a bit tough though, especially when trying to shoot the enemies, I wish I was able to see how many bullets I have in each round before I decide to spam my shots.
I confess that I was only able to beat the 1st level but couldn't progress the 2nd because I keep dying in the start, mostly thanks to the gremlin bats that killed me more often than the surprise skeletons that I was supposed to shoot to.
While this game is more of an PS1 style than PS2, this is nice work!
Thanks! In hindsight I’m not particularly happy with how the hit boxes worked out, ran out of time to rework for the other jam. The ambiguous ammo remaining is intentional though, forces the player to count shots. Meant to amplify the stress of encounters a bit.
