Straightforward idea, but it kept me playing! I have developed a strategy, so if after warm cell comes cold cell I can just go through and have my temperature balanced.
My high score is 6055. GG!

Exe builds are always annoying, it might be because of your system, because you don't have the expected version of Python at system level etc.
