I love stories and folktales and this felt fun and light-hearted and suddenly it just hit close to home! Thank you for making this! Opportunities to reflect on the topic are welcomed.<3
Also, I wasn't entirely sure how the moral system functioned and I'd love to learn more about that!
I really like the morale system! Very creative. It's something I'd really enjoy in a longer piece with accumulating opportunities for emotional risk/reward.
I really love the concept of this game and playing through the translations, thinking of how they might apply to the main character's relationship to their parents and also their relationship to their partner. I ran into a bug after the third translation and couldn't proceed, but I enjoyed what I played!
I loved the writing style and I loved choosing my pen at the beginning of the game :) Like someone else wrote, the ability to cycle through different translations was a good idea. I don't know many games were we play as a translator.
This is a really nice little game! I was pulled into and liked taking on the role of a translator, and I liked the morale system of working up to talking to your parent (I did get stuck by translating all three stories first). The ability to cycle through possible translations is very good, as is the touch of having struck-out dialogue options to show what state of mind you are in. My one adjustment I would recommend is to the UI: increase the contrast on the morale level. Personally I didn’t notice it at first, and if a player had poor vision or a dim screen, it wouldn’t be visible. The game itself though is amazing. Great job!
this is really cool. i really liked the spending and refilling of morale as i took on this difficult conversation, and choosing when to push and when to back off for my own sake. a really good abstraction of how hard it can be to talk about important things with folks you have a hard relationship with. (and i liked selecting the tool--the "not a pen" is my favorite. :3)

Thank you for your feedback! We updated the file (after the translations, 1/2 of the game is using the stories to talk to your parent with morale)!
