Question regarding "assets"

So, the rules for the jam say we're allowed to use any assets we own. What qualifies as an asset? I've been working on a Dreamcast framework for several years now in my free time, does that count as an asset? It provides me with a framework to easily do event polling, load and display graphics, manage memory, etc. All made by me over the last several years. Is it against the spirit to use that as a starting point?

I believe I replied to you on Twitter already, but if anyone else wondering: frameworks and previously-created assets are allowed. They would be practically necessary for some things like complex background scrolling, trig or vector math on pre-floating-point hardware, or for 32-bit consoles where things like loading a model from cart/disk don’t just happen!
