itch.io link or direct download?

hey so I'm grabbing games to rate (it's kind of surprising how many are ideas I considered but decided against for one reason or another, mainly because I thought they could not be done or at least I couldn't do them)! and I can't help but notice that my game and a few others have direct download links when you click on the submission, but a lot of other games link to their itch.io page instead so you have to see the itch.io page to . I don't know how this is determined (it seems arbitrary) but it doesn't seem particularly fair as

A) people that visit my game's itch.io page if they're feeling especially generous could donate a few bucks to me which I could really use
B) I am actively hot-patching the game with regular releases until I have ironed out the worst (read: fatal crash)  of the bugs
C) I spent time and effort making my itch page informative and attractive: not a LOT, granted, but still...

The jam submission pages will show direct download buttons if you have files on your submission page that can be freely downloaded, the idea is to make people who are rating submissions having immediate access to your files without prompting them to donate. Those whoa are logged out will not have access to the direct download links though, and will instead be linked to your project page where they can go through the regular donation download flow.

Games that do not have downloads available (like browser games) will always link directly to the project鈥檚 page from the jam submission page.

Hope that helps

tthanks yeah I realized shortly after posting that it was because those games were browser based (a platform I hope mine will run on eventually but I'm not there yet)
