I couldn't tell exactly what I was supposed to do. I leveled myself up to 99 after talking to and interacting with everyone and everything, then faced the boss. I won and got a game over. Losing the fight made me try again, but only with one HP, causing it to be a forever loop of lose. I couldn't understand the point to the game, and there was no story or introduction, just a lot of pep talks.

Suggestion: Make sure the player knows what is expected of them and give the game a proper ending.

Extremely short game. You can talk to the piano guy infinitely, but it messes up his appearance each time.

You lose the game when you beat the boss. Ummm... what?

The advice given felt wordy rather than helpful to me.

Seems weird that you start in some secret room then enter your own home... through a fire? Then you end up in some weird place?

It really felt like the advice would have been better given through a longer story or have been given through some other medium.

This game seems to be a personal one. The protagonist is (You) and what I assume is the final boss is your negativity. The secondary characters give you advice to aid you on your journey.

  • Pros:
    • The quotes are meant to spread a positive message.
    • The game sets out to do what it meant to, spread helpful quotes that helped the developer throughout his life.
    • The very short playthrough time serves it well.
  • Cons:
    • The gameplay is very lacking with only one boss and lacks balance.
    • The game seems to have various unwanted bugs.
    • Although intelligible, there are grammar mistakes.
    • Even if the quotes are meant to be quick short nuggets of wisdom, they don't take advantage of the medium in which it inhabits. The game could easily have been a short story or song capable of spreading the developer's same intent.

  • Direction Fix
    • The guy by the piano needs a Direction Fix
    • Haha, I talk to Joesph from the top and he become a clown?
    • Scratch that, you should check on almost all the NPCs if they need this option turned on.
  • Battle
    • First off, nice work on the battle system.
    • Just a small opinon of mine, but I would think sucking blood would do more damage than 22.
  • Other notes
    • Interesting how Junior makes a Spider-Man reference
    • Look for the "you're"s in the dialogue. Some of them should be "your". Ask for a proofreader's help sometime.
    • There may not be a need to remarks in parentheses unless you're dealing with a system message or tutorial, etc.
    • Joe's chin guard isn't aligned to his face shape.
    • How'd I get to an inn behind the fireplace?

Nice little collection of quotes, however, it feels weird that you get a Game Over when you defeat the final boss, It makes it seem like you've failed.
