Progression isn't very clear, lots of bugs, including one that locks the game and one that just didn't make much sense. You didn't save event information, so events end up really glitchy.
Long cutscenes that can't be skipped makes the game not really fun to replay.
The cutscenes bugged out on me (unless that was intended) and popped out some sort of error my first time running the game.
Story was pretty obvious (game didn't really bother to hide it).
I feel like a lot of the game overs just end up being kind of annoying. Instead, respawn the player and reset the room's danger events.
Also, there is clearly supposed to be an order to the some events, but you can break sequence. The fire area wasn't very clear that it was a path.
Also, the true ending seems to assume you've beaten the other endings first.
It's strange that this game was locked and removed from the game jam. I'm not sure how this happened, but it looks like a bunch of fake reviews or it was in development before the jam started? It's very confusing, but anyway let's move on.
At the very beginning of loading this game there's a very nicely animated brief cutscene and the title screen is great. However once the game actually starts you're greeted with a very poorly done intro scene, with mostly black background and default font show text. It feels very bait and switch here. Like the whole budget was spent on the title screen/opening splash.
The writing is done poorly and at times you have what appears to be two people talking, but no indication of who is saying what. There's just a storm of show text. Adding face sets or name boxes would really clear this up for future games.
The game plays like an escape room game. You're not really given direction, you just have to figure out what to do. It's not overly complicated but also not really that fun. The game instantly kills you if you answer with the wrong choice when prompted with some arbitrary questions about the Zodiac signs at times. With no way to figure it out, but trial and error. This is not fun to me.
The maps are quite terrible and even one of the NPCs mention how boring this game is. It's never clear what you're supposed to do and so you just run around back and forth through-out the maps trying to figure out what you're purpose in life is. If you add some sort of instructions to the player or give them their motive it would really help.
Like, why is my character here on this map and what is he trying to do? It feels very random, arbitrary and meaningless. Basically you run around and try to find the switch to flip. The part where you get seeds to plant is a painful experience of opening the menu and using an item on all the spots. Try to reduce the amount of time the player is required to open and close the menu.
The best part of this game happens as soon as you start the game when you see an interesting splash screen/packaging. The only thing I can say that's good about this project is that there are a few pieces of custom art sprinkled through-out. I did not enjoy this entry, but maybe someone who really enjoys escape-room puzzle games will find it playable.
Thanks for participating in this game jam, I hope that you've improved your skills over the course of making this entry and better luck with your next one. Don't give up, and keep at it!
The English version definitely has typos and grammar issues, but mostly it's missing a lot of punctuation.
Autosave would be nice, especially since it's super easy to set up in MZ. I also had to replay the first part of the game due to the fall.
I did end up solving the crystal puzzle, but I'll admit it's not super intuitive. I then finished the Aries puzzle, or at least I assumed I had: I ended up back in the hallway and nothing had changed. I went to the first room again and the statues had returned to their place (Ino's statue wasn't there anymore).
The videos are absolutely stunning (and is a great idea :)), the puzzles are pretty easy and the graphic is just gorgeous. The overall content is pretty easy, i can predict most of the plot since Death appear, but it's still a great story. It takes approximately 50 mins to finish the game (... i spent plenty of time trying to trick the guardians but it's ok- ), but the endings are worth it (especially death ending :)). Also don't worry about people complaining about the autosave, ig they haven't play any other RPG games yet. Btw, it would be nice if we can skip the videos. I spent a decent amount of time rewatching the videos to get different endings.
///^/// với lại thần chết trông đẹp trai đấy nhưng ổng cười nhiều quá ;-; cười một lần thì nghe ngầu đấy nhưng ổng cứ hehe suốt làm trái tim tôi hơi mệt :)))
At first sight, a promising game. Great graphics (I'm wowed for the title), but... ultimately I can't be as complimentary as other players.
Besides the fact that there is no autosave (you don't expect to have to save manually only after 5 minutes of play, especially in the context of the first part of the game), the big lack in my opinion is the accompaniment of the player in the hero's quest, at least in the beginning. There are no "signs" to help the player find his way, nor are there any suggestions on what he should do. You find yourself wandering around the map trying to figure out what to do. Moreover, I find the "Game over" a bit too direct/easy (jumping in the void, answering wrong to acquire a certain crystal). It can be fun (the first time), but frustrating in the long run.
Note: evaluation made on 20 minutes of play that I allow myself, including 15 minutes looking for the last 2 crystals before finishing with a Game Over on a wrong answer.
Thank you for you commet! But I want to say something: I don't make my own tilesets but I did draw my own map, you will see it when you go further. The map has nothing in it, it's actually has something in it, you just don't find it yet
I'm feel so sorry for you but you can't blame me for not having autosave, every rpg player knows that it's important to save games often If you are stuck somewhere, you can ask us, we can help! Every game has its difficulty, as long as you check everything carefully, you will find a way, like my other players have done. Again, thanks for your comment! We will learn from experience! Have a good day X"D
I have seen you use harsh language towards other game makers despite their best efforts, other players are my friends shared by me, you can call me anything you want, I just need to be more clear and I'm still talking very politely, next time you want to comment on someone's game, please choose a way to say it in a way that is easy to hear.
You are just picking on them, admit it :) the puzzles are pretty easy, the clouds form paths that you can easily notice (unless you are blind). And most famous RPG games don't have autosave, sometime they don't even allow you to save on the way but only at specific checkpoints.

Oh, have you finished the game yet? Because my game starts with ambiguities, then by the end of the game all the mysteries will be solved!

So yeah, I got stuck.
The art was very nice though, good job on that.
Thank you so much! There's a lot of bug in this version X"< Sadly I can't fix it now
