This game really impressed me. The detail of having “two environments” (and later these environments joining together in a symbolic way) was very significant. The story is engaging. For a game made in a month, it was pretty good. Imagine, longer than that? With dedicated graphics and soundtrack too. Very good!

Esse jogo realmente me impressionou. O detalhe de haver “dois ambientes”(e de posteriormente esses ambientes se juntarem de forma simbólica) foi muito significativo. A história é envolvente. Para um jogo feito em um mês, ficou muito bom. Imagina, mais tempo que isso? Com gráficos dedicados e trilha sonora também. Muito bom!

You have an error at the start of the game that requires changing a file to fix. I ended up brute forcing the name to be every possible combination I could think of.

The gameboy thing was neat, but you ended up changing the dialogue text as well, which felt off.

Could have zoomed in more with the gameboy screen to make it easier to see.

For the most part, I was just skipping battles because they weren't all that fun to play and it felt like I had to due to limited healing resources. Definitely would be good to add the ability for the player to use the inn.

The switching between characters at the start felt unnecessary.

You can walk out the screen near the end. This can softlock the game if you trigger the can't leave conversation.

The door does not display the correct text for the second roof event.

There isn't really enough build up/development for the player to really have strong feelings for the characters.

There is one section where depending on what the player does, you end up moving backwards.

There is the jump section that games you over really easily and isn't really intuitive what the puzzle is at first (at first I thought it was a jump puzzle, not a step/leap of faith puzzle). The game overs were a bit... annoying. Definitely better to restart the player on land instead.

Jogo bastante divertido, com um excelente grau de jogabilidade, e muito interessante dando cada vez mais vontade de jogar, excelente passa tempo e bastante colorido e personagens bastante definidos

Muito bom

I LOVEEEEEE!!

The game starts with kind of a slow intro and on some machines you have an error that needs to be fixed by renaming a file.

The intro is also just weird. You play as the doctor then you switch to another character named Meagan, but absolutely nothing happens in the story. This can be skipped.

There are some grammar issues and missed punctuation. It also appears to have been translated from another language based on the wording used.

This game is extremely boring up until the point they show a "Game Portable" system with the Gameboy-esk version of "The Last Star," which is actually a pretty cool part.

Honestly I think you this should have skipped the whole 'meta' part of the game where it's a dude in a hospital with all the default assets and instead jumped straight into this Gameboy version game.

The volume levels and sound levels are all messed up. The victory music blows your head off.

You get no skills(at the beginning) and there is no real combat balance(through the whole game). It's another combat system that is there just for the sake of being there with no real effort put into it. Also this feels like it wasn't playtested enough, if at all.

When you find the second character she has a skill, which is much needed and appreciated, but none of the skills have animations. Only the basic attacks have animations. The skills get a sfx and screen flash.

As the game goes on you go back and forth from the real world and the game world, but to be honest they are both bland and boring. The game tries to make it interesting by making the main character suffer from cancer and only have a few days to live, but at this point the game hasn't invested you enough and you may find it hard to care. Not to sound callous but if you want your players to be invested in a character you can't just introduce them and be like "oh yeah he's dying in three days, feel something."

It would be a decent execution had the game boy game been fun and balanced, but the battles are not balanced, and it's all very lack luster. I'm super bored right now with this story and game.

You do eventually get more skills as the game goes on, and that's appreciated but the battles are not fun even with them. I want battles, I love a good battle system, however this one is just not good because the numbers don't make sense. Essentially the fights take too long, there is no strategy involved and it's a chore.

You come to a 'puzzle' in the game world. You instant death the player for falling off an invisible walkway? That's a bad idea. So many people are gunna stop playing your game right here. You would have better luck keeping players engaged if you instead transferred them to the beginning of the puzzle instead of instantly killing them. You know in The Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past, when you fall off the side it puts you back at the door. Do that here, because it's infuriating the way you have it now. Nobody likes to see the 'Game Over' screen 100 times in a row.

I think you are trying something interesting and I can appreciate that, but it doesn't work as a whole. You have to make people invested in your characters before you kill them off and you have to make the battles fun in order for a battle system to be good. Make sure the player is strong, but has to pick their skills wisely. Add strategy where some creatures take extra damage from one type but less from another. Grant skills that will deal that extra damage to certain types, but less damage to the other types of creatures.

Thanks for participating in this game jam, I hope you've learned a few things along the way and good luck on your next project.

With an engaging and emotional storytelling, the game grows with each scene. The retro sessions are nostalgic and fun. The mapping is great. A beautiful game to demonstrate what RPG Maker is capable of. Congrats!
