You need to incorporate the Theme into your game in some way and before you submit it, you will need to write atleast 1 short sentence about how your game fits the Theme of the game jam. It's completely up to you how you interpret the theme. Feel free to be creative with it.

Theme: City of Adventure

Bonus Challenges: Unlike the Theme, these are entirely optional. Feel free to do one, two, all of them or ignore them completely.

For this game jam, the optional challenges are the following three:

1 - Urban Fantasy: The game contains some fantasy elements and is set in some kind of urban area (a city or a large town).

2 - Roguish Hero: The protagonist is a rogue or a similar type of character.

3 - Lockpicking Minigame: The game features some kind of lockpicking minigame.

With the lockpick minigame can it be a combination of words as a "lock" or would that count more as a puzzle? curious as i have no ideas as of current how youd make a mini game

It doesn't matter how 'abstract' a minigame is. If in your game whenever the player tries to pick a lock, they have to pass a "answer these random questions correctly" minigame, then that's in the spirit of that optional challenge.

As for how to make a minigame, that's easily done with events, but depends heavily on what exactly you want to do.
