How did you choose to implement the Theme: Journey to the Underworld?
The game takes place in an urban/sci-fi fantasy era setting. The protagonist had enough of living and being metaphorically enslaved in her city, so she decided to go on a journey to fulfill one of her dream researches which is searching for the afterlife and escape from the mortal greed.
Did you implement any of the optional Bonus Challenges, and if so, which ones?
1 - Bring Them Back To Life: Spoiler territory here, but throughout the protagonist's journey, she will end up having to go to the underworld to bring back someone to life.
2 -The Gatekeeper: Upon reaching the end of her journey, the protagonist will find her way blocked by a gatekeeper that stops them from letting her pass.
3 - Pass Beyond the Threshold: After defeating the gatekeeper, the protagonist will go ahead to pass into the underworld. There is also an epilogue scene which shows the next game's protagonist who seemingly may have died and is passing into the afterlife.

This was neat! It got straight to the point and was really well structured. Everything worked. I don't think I had any major issues. I noticed with some battles I was taking 0 damage or consistently getting missed when the enemies used just "attack" but that's about it, balance wise. I liked all the different skill options and the items selection. It felt like I got a LOT of gold and was able to just go nuts with items haha.
It was definitely repetitive in parts, made it feel a little slow to get through. I actually really like the way the progress was structured but since it's such a core part of the game I think it needs to feel more ... different. Idk. I actually have a similar issue in my game, as you progress down there's no indication that things have changed and it gets really repetitive. So i mean it when I say I get why it's hard to flesh out things like that with the jam time constraint.
I hope you keep going with it, it looks like you have a lot of plans!
Thank you very much! For rating, encouragement and advice! I'm glad it didn't have any major issues while you're playing it too. Yea, I didn't have time to clean up and fix when submission was close, but I hoped I fixed everything by the time everyone started playing it. I'm still learning my way through RPGmaker (and Itch.io creator content...) despite having played around with it for a while, but this had been an amazing experience for my first gamejam so far, so I thank for the opportunity for me to submit for an event I'm comfortable of.
Yep, I have a lot of plans to improve graphically and mechanically in my game devving! As someone with 0 skills in either though, it'll take time, but I am definitely going to be dedicated to put a lot more in the sequels. For the core mechanic, it'll be different in the next game, but I will bring this one over to the next game as its own separate content, with more cleaner workings as well! Alongside a lot of things, which at my skill again will take so much time, but still! This had been motivating and I'm glad that you played, enjoyed and advised for my game!
Uploaded a HTML version and significantly reduced the size of the game. Sorry for the inconvenience!
Had just made a few fixes for second Special Event and fourth Special Event!
