Enjoyed the game. I sank despite the title's suggestion.
I like the variation of the theme! But maybe it's worth speeding up the gameplay a bit, or I found myself just standing around waiting most of the time.
Nice game!
Nice and simple game! Can get repetitive, and the bucket doesn't work? Still, a little polish and this game could be really fun!
It gets a little repetitive. But still, it's a pretty neat game.
Played on stream, reminded us of Sea of Thieves! Controls were a bit hard to get used to, but I liked the ability to lower the flood amount with the bucket.
Cute game! The pixel art was good but some of the pixels were different sizes and I didn't love the color palette. I think the gameplay was fun but a bit dry. Definitely needed some sound. I think changing the inputs would have made for a better experience so I don't have to use the same fingers to move as to press Q and E. Speaking of that, the controls for the bucket should be Q to pick up and E to drop, so that if the bucket is near a leak you don't accidently pick it up when pressing E to fix the leak. Overall, nicely done!
Great game, short and sweet
Nice start to a management game, the difficulty ramps to impossible after a few minutes where you can't bail out the raft at all.
All in all, great work!
Gave this a shot, here's my thoughts.
Positive:
- The game is easy on the eyes, and has some neat graphical touches. I like the waves crashing on the raft and the little jig your guy does while he's walking.
- The first minute or so is very tedious but it does eventually escalate in a satisfying way difficulty wise.
The rest:
- No sound, though given some other attempts at music I've heard there were certainly worse options.
- The controls need spacing out, if you're using WASD movement then Q and E should generally be reserved for occasional inputs or interactions, as the means of core control it's incredibly uncomfortable to play when you have to press them so often. A wise suggestion is arrow keys for movement and Z/X for game functions.
- The gameplay loop is dry (har har). Go to spot, hold E, take bucket to edge, hold E, the monotony sets in fast. It's very basic and leaves little room for mastery.
thanks for the feedback, ill use it for my next jam. the is the first game ive ever actually finished so im happy you has atleast some positive things to say.
