Music production is the one part of game production I simply have no affinity for, I'm willing to take on anyone who wants to compose some sick tunes once the jam starts. I'm pretty hands-off about how composers do it so long as it just sounds good in the end.

Check my page if you want examples of my prior and current works.

I'll be going to sleep soon so in case you see my answer before I get up, I did post an extended video showing off my progress, it has some stock music and a handful of bugs/missing features but it's going very well.

If you add me on Discord I can send you some clips, username is okuusupremacist if you wanna take a look

Maybe a bit late but I wouldn't mind a music man on board, I've shown off what I've already made of the game on Twitter, using stock music for now but if you think you could do something cool for it let me know.

Here's a video from earlier today showing where I'm at: https://x.com/HellRavenLover/status/1840467979475284242

Thanks brudda

Woah I got 3rd, based. Anyway this is neat.

The rules of the game jam state the following: "You and your team are encouraged to make everything from scratch during the event. If you use any pre-made assets you must list them in the description of the game and you must have the rights to use said assets."

Off the top of my head I can think of at least 5 different submissions that breach these rules, using assets the developer clearly doesn't own or just reposting an older game with a leaderboard stapled on (sometimes with the original version of the game left on their page) and having no mention of this in the description or anything. Will any measures be taken in terms of quality control or do legit devs have to contend with this?

Didn't keep exact count but somewhere around 20 hours, was satisfied with how it turned out so submitted it earlier than expected. My sleep schedule has been utterly cursed since.

Genuinely the best game in the entire jam so far, very well put together and you can just see the potential to take it further bursting at the seams.

Enjoyable game, only real issue gameplay wise is that jumping off the side of clouds doesn't feel consistent at all. Sometimes I fly far down, sometimes I just come off like an old bandaid.

Gave this a shot, here's my thoughts.

Positive:

- The game is easy on the eyes, and has some neat graphical touches. I like the waves crashing on the raft and the little jig your guy does while he's walking.

- The first minute or so is very tedious but it does eventually escalate in a satisfying way difficulty wise.

The rest:

- No sound, though given some other attempts at music I've heard there were certainly worse options.

- The controls need spacing out, if you're using WASD movement then Q and E should generally be reserved for occasional inputs or interactions, as the means of core control it's incredibly uncomfortable to play when you have to press them so often. A wise suggestion is arrow keys for movement and Z/X for game functions.

- The gameplay loop is dry (har har). Go to spot, hold E, take bucket to edge, hold E, the monotony sets in fast. It's very basic and leaves little room for mastery.

But I did lmao, what gives?

Had to push out a hotfix, forgot the one line of code that lets your scores save beyond your very first run in a session.
