I found shooting to be pretty much useless unless you were standing still. That led to me playing a pretty slow game, where I'd aggro monsters, then run back and just pick them off. So it may have been my own fault, but it felt a bit slow to play. I think, with the number of nightmares you have to slay, they could've done with a bit less health. But maybe I'm just greedy for kills.
