Heck ya! I've beaten bossy jake!

(probably more luck than skill because he only used the homing attack once)

Great game :)

Thanks! Glad you liked it :)

You already got my feedback but for everyone else
The writing is dope and relatable
The gameplay is fun and the boss patterns good, though the some player convenience tweaks need to be made such as a smaller hitbox (or maybe I'm just bad) and more satisfying way to portray bullet  charging time.
Good work :)

Super fun game, I really wasn't expecting a bullet hell in a horror jam. (Not that that's a complaint.) I had a lot of fun! Screw Jake.

Thanks! Glad you had some fun with this :)

I don't think we've had a bullet hell game ever submitted for a SCREAM JAM, so this is cool! I like the narrative that gives a nod to the taxing experience of having to develop a game. The mechanics and aesthetics are highly reminiscent of Undertale's combat sequences and the interpretation was pretty on-point. I think a graphical representation of the shooting recharge either through the UI or the sprite could have been useful to make it easier to figure out when to shoot.

Thanks for submitting this game to the SCREAM JAM!

Thanks for the feedback.

We actually already implemented a representation of the recharge in the UI. Your player character glows once you can shoot.
But it seems like this wasn't clear enough for most people. So definitely something we can work on :)
