Are uploads greater than 1GB okay as long as they’re uploaded via Butler and accessible through itch (no external links)?

Just what the topic says! I’m an Unreal Engine developer and it can be difficult to come in at less than 1GB depending on a game’s scope (and I’d like to do as much as I can for this jam).

I’m all configured to push larger uploads directly to itch’s site using Butler, and I’ve been allowed to do so in the other jams I’ve participated in (Liminal Game Jam and GMTK). Is the 1GB a hard limit, or is it okay to go over if uploads are direct downloads from itch?

Thank you for your help! I’m really looking forward to participating in my first ever Scream Jam!

Hi! Any build which can be uploaded to itch.io is fine, regardless of file size. We recommend keeping files sizes as small as possible though, primarily to have a decent chance during the voting period.

Thank you so much for the quick reply! I’ll trim things down as much as possible - just wanted to be certain I don’t get taken out of the running if I come in a little over 1GB :)

Really looking forward to this jam!
