A really cool game, I love the pixel-retro aesthetics, gives a great atmosphere, great work!

This is a great adventure game with lots of surprises and spooks along the way. I think the best thing about it is the attention to detail. The environments are modelled like a cluttered factory and the assets are used well to reflect this - no stock assets being shoved in for no reason here! In addition, I love games that get you to explore an environment and uncover their secrets - and there's lots of visual cues, documents, and plain creepy stuff to get the player invested in the factory's goings-on. Doing the dirty work of a factory that has some serious misdeeds, and (spoilers) the creepy android you keep confronting as the game progresses, is a really fun interpretation of the theme too!

I think my only feedback is the the number of locked doors really felt like it constrained player freedom to explore at the start, but I feel that's more of a time/resources thing. This game definitely proved to offer more than enough content to make it an impressive feat for a week's development!

Thanks for submitting Dead Factory to the SCREAM MACHINE jam!

This was really cool! I love this era of graphics, so I enjoyed seeing it in action with a couple modern touches like the grainy filter. I enjoyed the puzzles and everything worked pretty well, except if I was in a position to examine two things at a time, one would become stuck on the screen forever. This happened once at the boss's computer with the document beside the table. And then again in the room with the skull, getting both the "It's locked" prompt and looking at the note on the ground, after which I couldn't proceed because I couldn't unlock the next door. But the game is short enough I didn't mind doing a restart. The only thing I feel like the game is missing is some sound in the boss room ending, otherwise great job!

I see that the collisions slow you down or even stop you, but for sure they can't block you completely.  When I turn the game off, the starting menu still appears and when I turn it back on, the text becomes all messed up. Finally I noticed that apperently most of the effort went into graphics, which aren't that important, I mean that if you downgraded them or put a video-effect, the game coul've been a lot scarier, because when you can't distinguish stuff your fantasy goes wild. *SPOILERS(?)* Also I think that maybe there should be a roman numbers document, maybe because I was tired, I didn't think about them at all lol.
