Jam Judge

Congratulations team Occult Software!
Sorry for the late comments, I was with my family in Washington state for Christmas and as soon as the Jam was over, I spent my time with them.
Amazing game and the atmosphere was palatable!

Just brilliant!

We finished the game in one breath. From the start till the end it was narratively perfect. Some little bugs doesn't spoil anything. And it feels like a real coldness. Love the atmosphere, love how the game looks, love the story.

P.s. Please, tell us how to pick up cloth on a platform in the basement.

Hello DoubleVGames!

Thanks for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I just tested the current build, and I had no problem picking up either tarp in the basement, you press [E] to do so. I'm not sure what difficulty you might be having, if you remember, can I get a little more detail? Thanks!

I know that in one build, the stairs to the platform in the basement were missing. I believe this is fixed in the current patch, but if you don't see stairs, please let us know!

Yes, most likely we have an old build. We downloaded projects at the start of the jam.

The game can be finished without this cloth. In general, the game is perfect. I just need to know in case I want to play a second time :)

Awesome!

Really?! Two weeks?! This game is the definition of awesomeness! This voice acting is insane! Loved it all the way!!

Developer(+1)

That's really wonderful to hear. Glad you made it past the first section, we'll hopefully have that fixed soon.
Thanks for playing, it means the world to us!

No worries! Keep developing and improving these kind of games!

I'm sorry but I wasn't able to finish the game. First 20 minutes or so was just aiming mouse at the red flag far in the horizon and holding W + Shift to slowly move towards that direction. I kept having the same objective displayed to get some food. I found a shed which I was given the code to, but the shed didn't have any sort of keypad, so I went further. Finally I encountered the base, and a new objective was given to scout the base. I collected a bunch of planks and tarps, and found a keycode to basement. Later on i found the door to the basement, there was no key i needed to enter. I found the breaker, it clicked when I pressed it and... nothing. I went back to the base and nothing has changed. At this point I was just too worn out to continue :(

I feel like the ambition for the game was too large for the 2-week period of the jam (apparent by the amount of voice overs unheard of in a jam game! tons). It would be better to scale it waaay down and provide more packed, if shorter experience. I'm sorry for the harsh words :(

Wonderful game! For being a 2-week jam, there sure is a lot of content! Got some serious Firewatch and The Forest vibes from this one. While the intro was a bit slow it really took me into an awesome atmosphere later on (I think you know what I mean, without spoiling anything). As per usual with game jam games, there are some smaller issues that I stumbled upon but nothing that I felt took away from the experience overall. Good job with the writing! It, just like the intro with the mechanics, took a little while but it really grew on me as the game went on. Well done! Really made me want to make something in a similar fashion!

Good luck in the competition!

I tried to play it, but I had to give up. My character walked through rock and fell into a pit-like area that I couldn't get out of. I did try and just wait for my character to freeze to death and hope for a possible checkpoint to happen, but guess the freeze thing is not fully implemented and so I had to close the game and when I open the game to see that I would have to go through the begin I was like no thank you.

Like I admit there are a lot of things about the game that is very impressive. But I have to be honest the beginning of this game is awful. I get the situation that character is in, but there is no reason to make a player have to walk slowly through an empty wasteland with basically nothing happening for what seems like 30min to a Full Hour. Also, the environments are not clear enough on exactly where I'm supposed to walk to which in turn got me to go to an area that got me stuck.

Also personally this annoys me, but why can't I use the mouse button to interact with the game world? I get [E] is a standard in many games, but if the LMB isn't used for things like firing a weapon, then let me use it for interacting.
