I enjoyed the nice snappy controls. The monsters at the start could maybe only start once I start running or at least give me some time to get from my mouse to my keyboard, got killed the first few times immediately because I didn't know I needed to press right immediately.
Thank you so much! I did spend a bit of extra time on making the movement feel good, since I know how important it is in platformer game. I do agree with the movement of the monsters, that was the initial plan but I never really figured out a good way to get it to work. But I realize while writing this I could just have added a bool that activated the first time the player made an input. But hey, learn by doing! Thank you for trying out and rating my game!
The monsters look really cool! the lighting is a nice touch
Thanks for trying out the game! I did get a bit caught up playing with the art and lightning, which kinda lead to a shorter game :D
Graphics are very nice. Animations could be a bit more vivid, they are a bit too subtle as is. Gotta say I like that you added lighting on the torches ^^ I beat the stage several times before being caught by the monster, so perhaps it's on the easy side? Nice entry at any rate ^^
Thanks for trying out the game! I agree about the animations, they were a last minute thing. I would've liked to animate the monsters a bit too. I had the monsters move faster before, but I had a few friends try it out and they didn't even make it to the finish line once. I should probably have made the timer shorter for the level or made the jumps more tricky. I decided to go the jam way and make it easier instead of too hard :D. I'm definitely going back to add some more levels to it, to make it feel more like a complete game :)
Of course, that all makes sense :) Also, good call making it easier since it's a jam. I mean, look at my game xD It's a mess difficulty wise, not even I can beat it most of the time (and I programmed it). :P
