- I can't even figure out how to get past the first fight, but I can tell that this game had a lot of thought put into it. The whole "use your keyboard to hack into the game using SRPG Studio commands" is devilishly meta, an ingenious use of SRPG Studio, and by far the most innovative thing in this ENTIRE jam. Not only this, but the music and atmosphere are incredible, bringing to mind favorable comparisons to the Shadowrun Returns trilogy. ...That said, I do have to reiterate that I can't even figure out how to get past the first fight. As much promise as this game seems to hold, I can't rate it that high in terms of subjective "fun factor" because of this. Maybe it's because I suck at coding, but my personal feeling is that the game is perhaps a bit TOO obtuse for people in general.
- Ludicrously creative coding gimmick with some brain busting puzzles. I didn't figure out the final puzzle but even getting that far was tough, so I felt like I'd played enough to give an informed judgment on the game. A few crucial glitches really ruined parts of this, but a couple of the puzzles were very satisfying. Extremely obtuse - really asks a lot of the player to figure out how to even get started; even if you know the srpg studio API is involved, it's not obvious how to actually apply that knowledge for a non-programmer. Extremely sick idea though, and entirely custom graphics/audio is always welcome (even though the music was really grating). Just needed a quick tutorial.
- SRPG Studio Hacker 3000 has to be one of the most innovative takes on the theme this jam, and also a good learning experience to learn a thing or two about scripting. The keyboard as the weapons is certainly unusual, and it goes even further, by making use of the actual engine functions to hack the game live and defeat your enemies. But I have say, it took me like 4 tries until I understood how to actually call the list of enemies, and I never got the "me" variable to work for healing or anything at all, so I don't know if I was doing something wrong or it didn't function. Now, it has a really rough start and it doesn't hold your hand at all, a link to the SRPG studio API manual can be a bit too much a of a jump for people with little coding experience to jump into, specially with how the input works. If you could directly pick the functions to build the call without having to type them, I think it would have been perfect, and also allow inexperience users to try to "brute force" the solution instead of hitting a wall in how to actually write the functions themselves. But apart from that, the game was great, the puzzles were fun to solve, the music was great, and the art was really nice, even the dialog box was a command window. This just makes the programming nerd in me happy. Awesome entry.
- Why would I do this?
- This is a very innovative project so I respect the attempt. I'm not the biggest programmer though, I know how to use the API and tweak codes here and there but this project is not for me. I do think this is a fun puzzle game for people who do like programming though. Keep up the good work.

I get it, super creative, very cool, very awesome and all that
but also it forces me to code so I fucking hate this game
There is a bug and the variable "me" doesn't properly store the player unit. You can still beat the game with a little creativity, and isn't that what hacking is really all about?
