Hi & idea

hi, I’m roshni, a neurologist in Chicago :-)

I’m brainstorming a game idea with learning objective of teaching trainees about features of lysosomal storage diseases. Obscure, but always shows up on exams! Audience: med students, neuro residents.

solo or multiplayer cooperative. General idea is that you need to do set collection of cards with different clinical & biochemical features, in order to ‘treat’ different lysosomal storage diseases. But there’s a push-your-luck element: the diseases accumulate toxic metabolic products each round they go untreated. Lose if you reach a certain level of toxicity, or win if you treat  certain number of diseases.

Will try to make some rudimentary cards this week & see if this actually ‘works’…

Cool idea! I love push your luck, it makes for some really exciting endgames.

Yeah sounds like a good start. Both mechanics are solid, and I always love it when there's a bit of learning built into the way the game plays. Plus, I'm pretty sure I've already forgotten everything I learned about the lysosomal storage diseases so I'll definitely be curious!
