I really like how intuitive it is to play, and how natural it feels to adapt to a client's needs. The aesthetic is very harmonious: the pixel art portraits, the bright colors, the simple sound effects, and the point-and-click interface, all felt like they belonged together. I also learned about some new kinks!
Edit: I do want to note though that the font is hard to read at this low resolution ("What is a 'Bood boy'? Oh, right.")
Hey everyone, I've slightly patched the game to resolve some issues with the Linux release. The only additions were an error log in the case the game crashes and an fixing a bug that would prevent any assets from loading in the Linux version.
Not sure how we're supposed to handle post-jam patches but I can add the originals as a separate download if needed.
non of the windows version starts for me unless i removed the settings file.
Sorry about, that. Glad that you found a workaround. If you download the updated version it should at least provide a log file to help track down the issue.
Big fan of the aesthetic here. The mix of dithering on the portraits and bold, solid colours on the UI and the spirals works very well. I love the portraits in general - the way the facial expressions change, and the diversity of the character designs. And of course the spirals themselves are very pretty, yes. The sound design is good as well, although I found the background music a little repetitive (I eventually muted it.)
Initially there seemed to be a little trial-and-error involved in figuring out what the clients liked vs. what they didn't, but in most cases, I was eventually able to figure out the pattern. There were a few fun little puzzles in there. Good work on those!
The Linux build seemingly doesn't want to work, but thanks for including one.
Very interesting game idea. The controls are easy and intuitive, but there's enough depth to incentivize exploration.
There are some bugs with the game crashing and progress not being saved. The crashes occurred while I was quickly clicking through the color menu.
The art is quite nice, I like how the clients respond to what you're doing and the pulsating glow animation on their portrait. The interface design is excellent and the menus are easy to use and understand.
The game gives you room to add extra commands that the client is neutral to. It might be fun to have some sort of alternate ending or bonus for sneaking in an extra set of subliminals.
I love this one. Each level is a little kinky mistery and the visuals are great. I'd say it captures really well the feelings of being a hypnotist
Hope someday it gets an export button for the spirals :D
I'm so glad to hear that! I'm really hoping to set up a "Free Play" mode that would be specifically designed for exporting the spirals.
